Happy Hens make for Happy Eggs
Posted by admin23 on February 23, 2010
So I have decided that I cannot buy anymore chicken eggs from caged chickens…for one it grosses me out, and for two I feel bad for the way the chickens are treated…It’s really awful, and if you don’t believe me pull up a Youtube video of battery hens…it will sicken you. I searched last year for a local backyard coop that could support my fresh egg craving that was within walking distance of my home…No luck. I got absolutely no replies to my ad on Craigs List…I made one more attempt this past month and I found local fresh eggs that could be delivered to my door from happy hens for about the same amount of money that I would spend on them if I were to buy them in the store…win, win. These eggs are delicious with their rich golden yolk, and the white doesn’t run all over the pan when you crack one into it…they are perfection…don’t get me wrong I don’t consume a dozen eggs in a week…however tasty that might be…I limit myself and I most certainly don’t eat a yolk every time I cook, or bake something with eggs. It just gives me a certain amount of satisfaction to know that the hens that laid these wonderful eggs are happy…healthy, and allowed to roam around and stretch their legs, wings or whatever.
L’uovo commestibile incredibile!
